Supporting Statement & Future Plans

Supporting statement: Colleague

Future plans

Reflecting on my development over the past three years has shown me that I have much potential to have a significant impact on my students and colleagues. I have identified areas of strength and areas for improvement that help me direct my learning. Regarding teaching and learning, I am currently working towards gaining a higher HEA certification, and I hope to submit my application in 2026. As the HE landscape is undergoing deep shifts, due to factors such as AI, financial pressures, labour market skills gaps, and wellbeing challenges, it is beneficial to review my practice from a different perspective to enable me to improve and adapt. I am finding the application process for HEA (reflection and drafting) extremely insightful, as it helps me to look more deeply at my practice and question and justify my choices and approaches. As well as identifying areas for further development, I am currently reflecting further on my mentoring approach and the importance of supporting my students' and colleagues' wellbeing.
